Milestone! - The Eight Minute Mile

I am going to officially call it - I am currently in the best shape of my life. After Saturday's 2.25 mile run, which was probably the longest run of my life, I hit another milestone. Last night I ran my first ever eight minute mile. The promising thing about those runs is the fact that I did them after completing thirty minute elliptical machine workouts. The even more promising thing is that, in both cases, I stopped because I wanted to stop, not because I had to stop. Now I just need to translate individual athletic success to wins in racquetball against my nemesis. I am becoming very tired of losing.

Awesome! Way to go. I loved running, but have fallen out of favor with it. I plan on getting back into it when it gets a bit warmer and I can run around the neighborhood.

I still don't enjoy running, I'm just doing it because I'm bowing to peer pressure. At least I can use it as a tool to gauge improvement in fitness. Have you been working out much? Soon, you'll be having to chase Lucy around and that will probably take care of it, right?

No doubt, chasing a toddler will do it soon enough. For now I've been using the Wii Fit or some yoga dvd's to keep active.

I was actually coming over here to congratulate you on your 8 minute mile, but I was distracted by the Seven Beards in Seven Days countdown. I'm pretty stoked for that week to arrive. Jedi Seal all the way.

Lestlie - I kind of got ahead of myself with the countdown timer - I didn't get the post introducing the series and drawing attention to the timer until very late tonight. I only wish it had the 24 sound effects attached to it... ha!
