Coming soon...

I had been waiting for the right deal to present itself. Cyber Monday provided it. In anticipation for purchasing a new television, I had been slowly upgrading a few electronic components. I had picked up the HD-DVD attachment for the xbox360 and had an HD cable box installed, even though I didn't have anything capable of displaying an HD image. Sunday, that will change, when my new 50" Sony Bravia 1080p HDTV is scheduled to arrive. I had also been holding out in posting photos of my new apartment until I replaced my old television. How embarrassing would it have been to show the world what my place looked like with an old 27" tube television sitting in the central location of my living space? Blerg.

Blerg? This is a new word I may have to pick up!

The new tv will make your place feel like "home." ;)

You need to watch more TV. 30 Rock in particular.

Not to nitpick, but I think the preferred spelling (by looking at the number of google hits) is blurg. Andrew is most definitely right about 30 Rock, though. It is excellent.

The only time I have to watch tv is on the train. Please help me convince Steven to get me a wireless card for my laptop for Christmas :) Then I can watch tv on the internet :)

Mike - urbandictionary.com has listings for both spellings, but I will defer to your google hit method of determining correctness. At least we agree that everyone should be watching more TV.

Kilax - I'll see what I can do. If you had a wireless card, then you'd just need a slingbox and you'd be able to watch your own DVR programs from the train. Wait, do you guys have a DVR in your cable box?

hmmm...on second look, it appears blurg and blerg are virtually even when it comes to usage. My "blurg 30 rock" search (no quotes) beat out my "blerg 30 rock" search, but also included "blurb" in the search as a common misspelling. I say if Andrew finds "blerg" more elegant, he should continue to use it.

mike - I may have the decisive word, but I need more evidence. I'll post again with the final word tomorrow.

Whats a dvr?

What is wrong with blogger comments? I cannot enter my website anymore. WTF.

Kim, DVR equals TIVO. One of the greatest inventions ever.

Andrew, looking forward to seeing pics of your apartment, complete with the new fancy pants TV!

Now excuse me while I look up blerg/blurg.
